Bespoke Lighting
Proudly made in the United States
In 2007, I founded Patrick Thomas Lighting Design as a dedicated resource for interior designers, architects, and trade professionals seeking bespoke custom lighting.
As an artist, designer, and craftsman, I’m passionate about creating lighting fixtures that are beautiful, functional, and timeless. Drawing on expertise in woodworking, metalworking, finishing, and lampshade fabrication, I craft one-of-a-kind, heirloom-quality pieces, proudly bench-made in the United States. Every piece is thoughtfully made to order, inviting clients to personalize their selections with metal finish options and combinations from brass to custom color formulations; a variety of woods and finishes; and tailored sizes, shade styles, and lampshade materials.
I’m deeply committed to providing thoughtful, personalized service, building lasting client relationships based on trust and genuine care.
I’m honored to work with distinguished clients like Victoria Hagan Interiors, Andrew Law Interior Design, Michael S. Smith Incorporated, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, David Kleinberg Design Associates, and Cullman & Kravis Associates, among others.
Notable projects include:
Oprah Winfrey’s Santa Barbara Residence

About Patrick Thomas
I was born and raised in New Jersey, and I loved the arts and construction at a young age. From piano and origami lessons to wood shop and pottery, I was always in a class. I was the kid who wanted to learn and know how everything worked and was put together. And if I didn’t know, I was happy to take it apart and find out. After I aged out of summer art camp in 6th grade, my first art teacher persuaded the school district to create an assistant teaching role for me, allowing me to continue creating art while helping younger students express their creativity.
I studied interior design and home product design, marketing, and manufacturing at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. I went on to manage a high-end lighting design firm in the City for the next eight years. After moving to Fort Lauderdale, I created my first product line of ten fixtures and launched Patrick Thomas Lighting in July of 2007. Over the years, my fixtures have been represented by Schumacher in the D&D Building and Holland & Sherry in the D&D Building, as well as the DCOTA.
Oh, and cats. I also love cats!
